Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life

A Service Error where you get a message telling you that "Parts inside your printer at the end of their service life, contact your dealer for replacement", or "Parts inside your printer require maintenance or replacement, call your service company", is normally a Maintenance Request Error. The maintenance request error is actually a Waste Ink Ink Pad Error and usually your remedy is:

1. Replace the Waste Ink Pad/Pads with a new one/ones (many people ignore this one, and they just follow #2)
2) Reset the Internal Waste Ink Pad Counter by using this utility

Search SSC epson utility and you'll find a Russian site.

All you have to do is uninstall the C62 and reistall again. The waste ink counter is in the computer. I found this out when the error lights did not light with the parallel plug out.Off-course you will have to do the same with ssc. This time keep resettting the waste.

Regarding the "device not found" mesage:
I too had hopes of getting my printer to work again by usuing the SSC software. However, each time I tried to run it, I got that message. I was about to give up thinking I'd found something too good to be true when i figured it wouldn't hurt to read through the help files. Imagine! Anyway, it told me to disable the Epson Print Monitor 3. By golly THAT made the software work! Hopefully this'll get some of your printers working too, so we'll be sending fewer serviceable units to the land-fills!

Hope someone can tell me where I can purchase replacement waste ink pads for my Epson Photo Stylus 825.

The reset utility worked. I pulled the pads out and dabbed off all the ink I could with paper towels. Got a bunch of ink on my fingers in the process. Thanks, Ken

There is free utility to check your waste ink counters if they are overflowed. You can check waste ink counters by free WIC utility.

According to the owner he can't access his CD. The model of his CD Rom is Samsung CD ROM SN-124. Upon inspection, I found out that the device (CD ROM drive) is missing from his My Computer (as you can see on the image below) At first, I thought that the problem lies with the connection of the CDROM because I had it disassembled a week before due to display problem.
