Sotec Winbook WV2150 - Audio and Video Driver WinXP/Vista

Image
Here's a little info for those people looking for drivers of Sotec Winbook WV2150. I wish this will help those people having problems with the correct drivers because they can't identified the correct name/manufacturer/model of the hardware. I recently installed a new hard drive into a Sotec Winbook WV2150. After doing a fresh install of Windows XP, the the audio and video card drivers are missing. I used driverforge along with driver packs to install the missing drivers, but driverforge or maybe Windows itself incorrectly identified the sound card as C-Media AC'97. The device could not start according to the device manager, so the sounds don't work. The VGA was fine though, it is Sis 650_651_M650_M652_740. After some research, I found out that he correct sound card/audio driver should be Realtek AC'97 Audio Driver. Here's a screenshot of the device manager of a working Sotec Winbook WV2150: Audio/Sound Card: Realtek AC'97 Audio Video/VGA: Sis 650...

Google Chrome Offline Installer

Chrome is one of the best internet browser out there. If not for firefox extensions, Google chrome will be my main browser. Google Chrome is faster than Firefox (in my experience), and I like its tidy screen. I also like how it handle searches and url type-ins. I usually install Google Chrome to my client's PC so they will have an option of faster internet browsing. One problem though is it needs an internet connection to install. Here's an offline installer for those people who wants to install Google Chrome without an internet connection: OFFLINE INSTALLER LINK - Click Here

How to Install Windows XP using a USB Drive / Flash Drive the EASIEST way

Image
NOTE: I used Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 as a test machine in this post but this will also work to any laptop/netbook/pc that can recognize USB devices as a boot option. This also works if you want to use Windows Vista. The owner of this Lenovo S10-2 tried to upgrade his operating system to Windows Vista . The problem is he had some problem while installing it and his machine refused to load the OS. He also accidentally deleted the recovery partition, so the one-key recovery won't work to restore to factory default. The owner now wanted to install Windows XP instead of Vista. I usually use my external DVD Rom drive for this kind of work (it's the easier than USB method) but it broke down a couple of days ago. So I have no other choice but to install from a flash drive). Fortunately, installing from a USB drive is now easier than it used to be. There are programs out there that handle all the work for you. Unlike before that you need to fire up command prompt and issue some ...

How to Use Smitfraudfix | Tutorial | Download

Image
What is SmitFraudFix? SmitFraudFix is a freeware utility tool that specialized on spyware, malware and adware removal. What most antivirus software can't handle, SmitFraudFix can. It is very effective that I have this software in my flash drive all the time. If a client complained that their computer is very slow or are having annoying pop-ups and weird activities, I run this software first before doing any software troubleshooting. The maker (siri) updates this software regularly so I advise that you download the latest version first before using it to any computer. Unfortunately, SmitFraudFix offers no real-time protection, which means that you can only remove parasites when your system has already been infected, and the damage could be already done. Download SmitFraudFix Download link Alternative Download 1 Alternative Download 2 How to use SmitFraudFix Special Notes: It is highly recommended that you use SmitFraudFix under Safe Mode for maximum removal. Free Tool that Prevents USB Flash Drive Infection

The Microsoft Windows Operating Systems use the AUTORUN.INF file from removable drives in order to know which actions to perform when a new external storage device, such as a USB drive or CD/DVD, is inserted into the PC. The AUTORUN.INF file is a configuration file that is normally located in the root directory of removable media and contains, among other things, a reference to the icon that will be shown associated to the removable drive or volume, a description of its content and also the possibility to define a program which should be executed automatically when the unit is mounted. The problem is that this feature, widely critizised by the security community, is used by malware in order to spread by infecting as soon as a new drive is inserted in a computer. The malware achieves this by copying a malicious executable in the drive and modifying the AUTORUN.INF file so that Windows opens the malicious file silently as soon as the drive is mounted. The most recent examples of this a...

How to Change Password on Windows XP / 7 without knowing the Original Password

Image
This is useful for many occasions such as if you forget the password to your primary account on your computer but still have access to another 0ne or if you simply want to prank your brother. This has been tested on both Windows XP and Windows 7. For this to work you must have access to another account because you have to use Command Prompt or CMD to change the password. Here is how to do it: Open Command Prompt (CMD) by going to Start -> Run -> cmd.exe Type in ‘net users’. This will show you a list of all the accounts on the computer. This is just to check and make sure you know the EXACT username of the account you want to change the password for. Next, you need to type in ‘net user (whatevertheusernameis)  Next you shall get a prompt asking you for the new password: Finally it shall ask you to repeat the new password, click enter and BAM, you have now changed the password without knowing the original one.
